Introduction to the short Inca Trail

The Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is an extraordinary 2-day experience that captures the essence of the legendary Inca trail, designed especially for travelers who, even with limited time, seek to live an unforgettable adventure.
This route represents a more accessible version of the renowned classic 4-day Inca Trail, considered one of the most spectacular trekking trails not only in America, but in the entire world.
In just two days, this carefully designed route allows you to discover some of the most dazzling jewels of the trail, such as the magnificent archaeological complex of Wiñay Wayna.
The experience culminates with a magical moment: the arrival at Machu Picchu through the Inti Punku (Sun Gate), from where the first view of the lost city of the Incas is revealed in all its majesty.

DAY 1: CUSCO – INCA TRAIL – MACHU PICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES

Your adventure begins early with pickup from your hotel in Cusco.
Our transportation will take you to the Ollantaytambo train station. From here, we will board the train to the starting point of our hike: kilometer 104 of the railway, located at 2,250 masl.
The first stop will be the fascinating archaeological complex of Chachabamba (2,270 masl), where our guide will reveal the secrets of this important Inca construction. This carefully preserved site serves as a magnificent introduction to Inca architecture and history.
